B.A. (HONS) LL.B.
Jane completed a Bachelor of Art with Honours at the University of Melbourne in 1994 and embarked on a corporate career for 8 years in marketing and then project management. After having children Jane left corporate life and established her own retail business for three years before selling the business and deciding to study law while her two sons were still young.
Jane completed her Bachelor of Laws at La Trobe University in 2011 and was admitted to practice in 2012. Having spent some time with Justice Cronin at the Family Court of Australia while studying, Jane pursued this interest by obtaining employment after being admitted with a boutique family law firm in the city. However, when a position arose at Rotman & Morris to establish the firm’s Dromana office, Jane seized upon this opportunity having enjoyed her past experience in establishing a new business. At Dromana, Jane was responsible for all aspects of general practice law but predominately focused on property law and continues to specialise in this area of law.
Jane’s legal experience includes:
• Propery Law – sale and purchase of residential property and off-the-plan developments, subdivisions, transfers, caveats
• Commercial law – sale and purchase of business, joint venture agreements, loan agreements
• Litigation including debt recovery
• Drafting Wills and Powers of Attorney
Jane volunteers at the Fitzroy Legal Service at their family law clinic at the Collingwood Justice Centre. In her spare time, Jane enjoys reading, travelling, good food and wine and dining out and tries to mitigate the effects of these hobbies by swimming and cycling.
